4 Years and Counting....

At this time 4 years ago I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and marry my best friend of 5 years. I wish I had more pictures to post on here, but this is all I had on this computer. It was a great day and if I could just have another piece of my wedding cake right now, life would be PERFECT :)

Quick Trip

Coming to you live from our hotel room in Houston. Blake had to come here for business and asked me to come along. Seeing as our FOUR year anniversary is tomorrow, it seemed fitting for me to tag along and make it a little anniversary get away. Colt left for the lake with Gertie and Poppy while Blake and I made our way to Houston. We got a recommendation from friends to go to the "Strip House" for dinner. It was on the same street as our hotel which was even more perfect! It is a steakhouse with a very sultry atmosphere to say the least. As you can see, behind us are a bunch of pictures of burlesque dancers and I had to crop out some nakey girls as well. Definately not blog appropriate. Dinner was amazing and we even got to visit some friends afterwards. Tomorrow Blake has a few meetings and I think I just may sleep in, workout, swim and then head home just in time to drive out to the lake before dark. Yippee skips!

Put your fun pants on and join me on a trip to the lake...

Lots of fun goes on in our world from Thursday-Sunday during our summers at the lake. Lots of fishing goes on and the limit was caught each trip twice a day for the past few weeks. Needless to say, all of our freezers are full! These are from two different trips this weekend. The water level has been extremely high since mid May. The road in front of the house has been underwater due to the execessive amount of rain up river. With the water level beginning to receed, people feel a little toooo comfortable driving through it to get to the boat ramp. Not one, not two, BUT three times in ONE day people drove off into the ditch. Please notice the sign ROAD MAY END IN WATER! They called a tractor to handle the dirty work, but sadly it failed. No worries, Blake came to the rescue and pulled EVERY car out including the golf cart with three young boys who had to go home and give their parents the bad news of their water logged golf cart. We have swings lined up along the wall on the porch. We all enjoy sitting and watching the view. That is where Colt enjoys taking his longest naps. Speaking of Colt, he has been introduced to the nasty taste that is Gerber green beans. He seems to be getting used to it and we should be introducing carrots tomorrow. Here he is in his swing at the lake getting his first bite. Will, Erin & Brylee joined us for the lake fun this weekend. I love it that Lanna and Erin are always game for super fun water sports. No weinies allowed :) Tubing is always our favorite thing to do together. This year we tubed ALL THREE of us at once...its all fun and games until someone gets hurt. After we all three got thrown across the lake, we some how landed in the same spot...on Lanna...oooops! Our next task will be to jump off the top of the boat house...
Sweet babies in their walkers on the porch
Soldier Creek is a restaurant on the lake on the Oklahoma side. It is an ongoing 30 year Kreck family tradition to frequently take a boat ride over for lunch. SC is a gas dock/convenient store/restaurant. This weekend was Colt's very first lunch at Soldier Creek...and its kind of a big deal :) My favorite picture of the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matthew 19:14

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." -Matthew 19:14
Sunday was our baby dedication at Church. At the beginning of the service, they called all of the new babies and parents up to the front. There was a slideshow of each family, the elders gave us all a rose and a bible, the congregation made a pledge to help us raise our children to know God, and the parents made a pledge as well. We were then escorted down the aisles of the church and the members surrounded us and prayed over us and our babies. It was very special and such a wonderful day. Colt did wonderful and loved the rose they gave us. He just wanted to eat it.

After the service, we met about 30 more of our close family and friends at Mema's house for lunch. Tammy slaved in the kitchen making a wonderful lunch for 30+ in honor of Colt. Tammy, I can't tell you how wonderful it was! It was so great and the food was AMAZING as always! You never fail to outdo yourself. Thank you thank you thank you!
My little family

Looks like Colt & Daddy are WIPED out!

Tammy gave me this great book called "The Power of a Praying Parent." I started it yesterday and it really is good. All mommies and/or dads go out and get one :) I find great peace in knowing Colt is God's and God is in control.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:11-13

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." -Psalm 139:13-14

Birthday Fun & Weekend Fun!

Thursday night we celebrated my Brother in Law's (Jake) birthday at his favorite place, Sushi Axiom. I enjoyed trying every different kind of "roll" ever made and we had a lot of laughs! Happy birthday brudder!

It's my party....Yippee!!!

The Boys! Tim, Jake, Blake, Clint, Nick & not pictured is Bonner...he skipped out early

After dinner, Blake and I drove up to the lake house late that night and went straight to bed when we got there. As I said before, Blake is a fishing guide on the weekends and he had two trips booked for Friday and Saturday. Anybody who needs a fishing guide at Lake Texoma...Just holler :) He's the fishing master! The weather was wonderful and I did some much needed laying out and I even skiied people! I haven't done it in TWO years (last year I was preggers) and I got up on the first try. Here's proof...

Lanna is the most precious girl you will ever meet. My mother in law calls her "perfect." I know she thinks I'm perfect too and probably says it when I'm not around! HAHA...JK Tam we all know I'm far from it, but you love me ANYWAYS! As I said previously, Jake and Lanna will be getting married May of next year and she came up with the CUTEST and most creative way of asking her friends to be bridesmaids and Colt to be her ring bearer. I just had to take a picture of it...Thanks Lanna! We love you!

The FrontThe Back

Tomorrow is our baby dedication at Church. I couldn't be more excited to dedicate Colt to the Lord. Thank you Jesus for my precious little boy!!!!!!!!

Colt's Rustic Lodge

I am an avid reader of Kelly's Korner Blog. Her sweet baby girl, Harper, is about 6 days older than Colt. I was still pregnant when I received her blog from a friend saying, "Pray for Harper." Of course I prayed, followed her blog and still follow her blog. Harper is no longer sick, but I enjoy reading about their family. Every Friday, Kelly does a "show me where you live Friday" where you post pictures of whatever room is on tour for that week and you can tour over 300 living rooms, kitchens and so forth! Its great and I have gotten some really good decorating ideas! This week we are touring children's rooms & nurseries. I hope this is an example that it doesnt have to cost you an arm and a leg to get what you want! Especially when you have a mother in law (Tammy) who says, "oh we could make that!"

I wanted Colt to have an outdoorsy kind of room, not camo, not western, but a nice compromise of everything boy, nothing baby, something I have never seen before as well as easy on the pocket book!! Bargains are my favorite and I love the feeling after I buy something on sale, cheaper at another place or cheaper because I made it! This project felt like a design on a dime project and I loved every minute of the challenge!

Thank you to my husband Blake for his help along the way and sometimes he even did it with a smile...NOT! But I should say, after it was all said and done, he said "wow, this is the coolest room." It was well worth it just to hear him say that.

As you walk into the room

You will notice Colt has a front porch in his room. It is real and built by my handy dandy hubby. It is a 14X10 replica of an old town porch. We scavenged the barn wood from somebody's front yard. Blake knocked on their door and asked them if we could have it and they said "take it away!" So we did! He only spent $30 on extra wood at Home Depot and the metal awning he had already. The decorations on top were made with leather and cowhide scraps we got for free in Canton. The cowhide rug I splurged on at Canton for $99.

Final price of the porch = 8 hours and $30!

The cowhide rug I splurged on in Canton for $99

The shutters on the window were made by the talented Pappaw. Tammy used the left over fabric to make curtains in the shutters.

Changing table wall

The barnwood changing table I got at Canton for $80. It wasn't a changing table, but Blake made a frame for my changing pad I got at a shower and we placed it on top. The "Hi yall" open box I got half price at Hobby Lobby for $8. It holds lotion, powder and wipes. The dog picture was my grandmother's and looks exactly like our lab. The european mount above the shelf was Blake's. The metal star on the shelf I got for $5 at a cute store around town. The Hand carved indian, Blake got for college graduation. Carved & painted (by hand) made especially by Pappaw, Blake's grandad. Please check back later for another post about that. He is starting to sell them on ebay. The metal shelf I got half price at hobby lobby for $15. The gun holster bag hanger I got at half price at hobby lobby for $12

Total cost of diaper changing wall = $120

Rocking chair corner before and after

I got the lamps on the post half price at walmart for $20

The white door came from the ranch. We took it off an old barn and it is leaned up against the wall. The picture frame with cross and fabric was made by Tammy. The cowboy hat was my grandads. The lamp was half price at hobby lobby for $30. The side table was made. I bought a stool ($12) and an old wine barrel($18) from canton. Screwed them together and Blake made a top for it. Tammy covered the top in leather fabric and trimmed it with fringe, nail heads and leather barbed wire. The rocking chair was Blake's great great grandmothers! The throw and pillow were made by Tammy.

Total cost of Rocking chair seating area = $60

Lamp and table upclose

Crib wall

Blake's Pappaw truly is talented. He made the CTK "brand" for us (that Tammy drew) and I painted it. Blake made the board behind it with the left over barnwood and we white washed it. I got the concho's from Hobby Lobby (.99 for 5 = $5) and glue gunned them on for the border. The tree on the left was made by Tammy. I bought the "fake tree vase" from TJ Maxx on sale for $20. The shelf it is sitting on is from Canton for $50. The crib was Blake's from 26 years ago!

Total cost of crib wall = $75

Colt's bedding was made by Tammy as well. I picked out stripe fabric, leather fabric, and cow fabric. We used this all around the room.

Nursery Exit

Thank heaven for little boys sign was given to me by my cousin in law. The plaque on the right are the "cowboy commandments" given to us by my dad.
Nursery Exit = $0

We did paint the room and buy frabric. The cost of paint was about $50 and the cost of fabric was about $150.

A big THANK YOU to Tammy. I know you all are wishing she was apart of your family right about now, but NO you cannot have her...She's mine :)

I hope everybody can get a few ideas they can use from this room! I hope you enjoyed the tour and please feel free to follow our blog so you can Keep up with the Krecks! :) Happy weekend!
