No words can express...

I'm kind of at a loss for words right now. This past week has been a whirlwind, but in a good way. Last Thursday we welcomed sweet baby Colt Thomas into this world at 10:23am weighing 7lbs 4oz, 18 3/4 in long... via c-section. What an experience that was! When they say "you'll feel a little pressure" that is definitely the understament of the YEAR! Pressure = TUGGING/PULLING/TRY TO FALL OFF THE TABLE...ok, obviously I wasn' t going to fall off the table, but it felt like it. We arrived at the hospital at 8am sharp and not surprisingly my parents and Blake's parents beat us there!! We checked in and headed straight back to be prepped. Blake was AMAZING!!! Although I must add that he saw bubbles going through my IV and had to lie on the floor to avoid passing out. One of the Dr's took him back to the OR prior to surgery to show him around and gave him a coke. After that...he was a champ. We were told we could take still pictures, but no video allowed. If you know Blake...rules DO NOT apply to him and no is NEVER an option. With that said, he videoed the WHOLE surgery...it really was amazing. (If you are wondering how he got away with it...our video camera shoots still pictures...so yes, my husband is a liar. The surgery started at 10:17 and baby Colt was here at 10:23. Very fast! After they zipped me back up, we headed back to the recovery room where we could immediately see family and friends...2 at a time. It was great. Our 3 night stay turned into 4 nights do to a few feeding issues with Colt. Babies are expected to lose weight after birth, but only 10% is good. He had lost 11% and we had to revise his feeding plan. After 16 hours of the revised feeding schedule he had already gained back 4oz (THANK YOU JESUS). We left bright and early Monday morning and drove straight to babies r us! Seriously...we did...in my pj's and ugg slippers. We had to pick up much needed items before heading to Chan's for lunch and then Home sweet home! Pain pills work wonders...let me tell ya! They make you feel like superwoman, but yes I did pay for it later...I'm resting and TRYING to let other's do things for me, but I did get in a load of laundry yesterday which was not such a great idea. Anyways, thank you to everybody who prayed, left emails, texts, comments etc...I loved them all, read them all.

When other's tell you how great it is to be a mom for the first time, you really cannot understand the depth until its actually happening. And boy is that the truth. What a miracle...the whole process...pregnancy, birth and all.

During our stay, Blake would pull his bed up next to mine as if we were sleeping with eachother and we would hold hands through the railing. After the first night, we couldn't take it anymore and I climbed in bed with him. What a wonderful feeling to have him hold me without my belly being so HUGE and we could actually snuggle and fall asleep together.
Blake is superdad. He has been nothing, but amazing. He changed every diaper, up until I changed my first one SATURDAY :) Helped me tag team feedings...meaning, I breastfed, handed him to Blake. Blake burped him, fed him expressed b-milk, and then a small amount of formula...while I pumped for the next feeding. We turned an hour process into 30 minutes. GO US!

Since we've arrived at home, we are adjusting to a new baby, trying to let the dog know we still love her too, and I'm adjusting to my new sleeping schedule...feed baby, sleep, feed baby, sleep feed baby, sleep, as well as me trying to adjust to hormones leveling out = cry cry cry :)

Dixie (the dog) has been the best baby monitor $$$ couldn't buy. She is the first one to hear Colt cry, jumps off my side of the bed, goes to see what he's doing and comes back to get me...as if she's saying "make it stop mom."

Here are a few pictures...the rest are on facebook...enjoy!!

19.5 hours and counting...

I will only be pregnant for 19.5 more hours! UNREAL! It seriously has been such a great experience and a wonderful journey, but I can honestly say I'm so ready to not be pregnant anymore! As this is my last day before the baby arrival I'm trying to keep busy to avoid thinking about what is to come, or what bad could happen etc...I met mom for lunch at El Fenix since it will be out of the question as of tomorrow! (In case you were wondering, my enchilada rice & beans, queso & chips were amazing!!) I made a last minute stop at babies r' us to get a few necessities and tonight we are meeting family and friends at the local "honky tonk" you could say, for dancing and steak! Blake installed the car seat base last night, so I have been driving around with a car seat and no baby. WEIRD! It seems as if we are ready to roll...I just pray for peace, no anxiety and to at least get a few hours of sleep tonight! AND a healthy baby/mommy of course! We have to be at the hospital at 8am tomorrow so we will need to leave the house at 6:45 to be there on time due to the 40 minute drive + traffic! I am taking my computer and hope to blog/answer emails/etc...at any chance I get. Lets just hope I show up and nobody says "oh sorry, we can't take you today." HA! That would be just my luck.

C-Section is Scheduled...

I had my LAST and final Dr's appointment yesterday! How exciting is that?!... and kind of bitter sweet that this journey is coming to a close. When the Dr said, "the next time I see you we'll be having a baby" I got goose bumps!

The C-Section is scheduled for NEXT Thursday the 22 at 10:00am. She tried to fit me in earlier, but there was NOTHING available. So as of now...Thursday the 22nd at 10am is our day! For those of you needing a reason to skip work or at least half a day, you can use me :) She said from start to finish they allot 1 hour, but usually its done much quicker. Any encouraging words/advice for either Blake or I, from those of you who have had one, would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you for your thoughts and keep us on your prayer list for at least another week!

Sonogram...

Here are two pictures from the sonogram today. One of his big wide foot he has already inherited from Blake and another of his sweet face. He looks cramped in there, but look close and you can see his sweet mouth, nose and eyes...like he's looking right at you.

Instead of 7.5lbs, we found out he weighs exactly 7lbs. He's a great size and not abnormally big! Dr. says C-Section is most likely at this point, so nothing we didn't already know. Good news once again...I go back Monday! Who knew Dr's appts could be so fun?!

Sweep n'Vac

I drove to Target yesterday morning to purchase the highly desired sweep n'vac. Online it was listed at $49.99. At the store it was priced at $59.99.
This didn't phase me much, as I figured this product was going to make my life much easier. So I walk up to the counter and much to my surprise it was $39.99!! Don't you love when that happens?! So I get home, open the box immediately, put the parts together and read the directions. To my dismay, I read the words "charge for 24 hours before first use." REALLY?! I let it charge for about 2 hours and my curiosity gets the best of me. I take it off the charger and head straight to my bathroom. Dixie's dog hair is EVERYWHERE and I couldn't wait to try out my new toy in just the perfect space. So...........I turn it on and go to town. Took me about 2 minutes to sweep n'vac the bathroom with no bending over and in absolutely no time at all! I ran and put it back on the charger and it has offically been charged for 24 hours now! So far, I'm pleased with my purchase. It definitely beats sweeping and then going to get the big heavy vacuum, plugging it in etc... Works for me! We'll see how it works out after I hit the other bathroom, entry way, kitchen and laundry room with it :)

Please don't be too good to be true!!

I recently saw on TV what seems to be the best house hold cleaning item EVER! The Dirt Devil Sweep n' Vac. I should have invented it myself. I have always swept the floor and then vacuumed the dirty mess instead of sweeping it into a dust pan. My mission tomorrow is to go to Target, buy it, and then come home and try her out! I'm SOOO hoping its as good as I think it will be. I'll let you know!

:::Baby Update:::

37 Week baby update
Today was my 37 week Dr. appt. Everything looks great and baby is measuring at 39.5 weeks instead of 37 and around 7lbs 10oz ...as of now. Looks like we have a big baby on our hands. Baby has not dropped or made us think that he wants to come out anytime soon. Pelvis is still narrow (thanks mom for that hereditary disorder ). Dr. has scheduled a sonogram for this Wednesday to be sure of measurements etc...She seems confident that we will be having a c-section sometime during the week of Jan 19th. (unless a miracle happens...which she "highly doubts"). But you NEVER know! I will update you all again after the sonogram Wednesday. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. We are doing great and hanging in there. I love you all

Happy New Year!

ITS A NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year everybody! We rang in the new year at our second home away from home...the lake house. Pretty low key, but full of laughs with family and "catch phrase." Blake and I didn't even make it to midnight this year for the FIRST time ever! We fell asleep at 11:30. There's always next year :)

This is the time for New Year's resolutions right?! If you are anything like me...you make a few and they all go down the drain in less than 2 weeks. NOT THIS YEAR! Obviously, losing the baby weight is NUMBER ONE on my list, but will have to be postponed until baby arrives. Any tips from you mamas out there on how you lost the baby weight....I'd LOVE to know and do it too!

36 WEEK DR APPT!
A few days ago was another anticipated Dr. appt. Only when you're having a baby is it so exciting. Same things...weight, baby heartbeat, blood pressure, etc...Everything is on schedule. According to the Dr...she thinks we are having a good size baby. Already 7lbs at 36 weeks! It amazes me how they know these things. It seems as if we are headed down the C-Section road. No "for sures" yet, but she seems confident/optimistic at the same time...if that even makes sense? She says I have a narrow pelvis. I know my mom had the same thing and she says its hereditary. I'm at peace with whatever happens. No use worrying about things we can't control right?! If that is the case, she will take him in about 2-3 weeks! Seems so close, yet so far away. We are excited none the less. Next Dr appt will be Monday! Creeping up on 37 weeks. WOW!
