I'm a big boy now I'm EIGHT!

Somebody pinch me! My once teeny tiny 7lb bundle of joy is now a 20lb 8 month old crawling big boy with teeth!!! Wasn't it just yesterday I found out we were pregnant?ONE MONTH TWO MONTHS

THREE MONTHS

FOUR MONTHS

FIVE MONTHS
SIX MONTHS

SEVEN MONTHS

EIGHT MONTHS!!!!!!!

COLT, What are you up to these days?
...you are a crawling machine. Everywhere we go, you follow us like a little puppy.
...you have your two bottom teeth and your top teeth are cutting through as we speak
...you are so happy all of the time. I always get asked, "is he always this happy?" To which I reply, "yes, always. He doesn't know any different because he gets to hang out with crazy me all day!"
..."da da da" is your FAVORITE word! You actually say it when you see him and use it in the correct context.
...You say "ma ma" when you are sleepy or hungry.
...You say "ba ba, ma ma, da da, na na, tuh tuh, dur dur"
...You are kind of over your jumperoo, but I still put you in it while I get ready and we have a dancing, jumping, jam session. Nobody has ever witnessed it except me and you :)
...You still sleep until 9am and take two 3 hour naps
...When you get really sleepy, you crawl over to me and lay your head on my leg and try to pull up on me for me to hold you.
...You wear size 12 month clothes
...size 3 shoes
...size 3 diapers
...You run like a track star in your walker and it HURTS when you ram the back of my legs with it!
...I still sign to you. "eat" "mom" "bath" "milk" "finish" "no" "dixie" are the ones I do the most
...You love all of your grandparents and smile when you see them
We love you to pieces and you bring us so much happiness! Stop getting so big so fast!!! Where is the slow motion button on you?!

Grapefest 2009

Friday, Colt and I made our way out to Grapevine Texas with my favorite in-laws for the 23rd annual Grapefest...You can click HERE to read up on my first trip to the cute town of grapevine when mom and I went. It was on the same little "main street", but this time the whole street was blocked off to make room for all the vendors. We parked a mile away and were shuttled to the entrance of the street. There were lots of vendors and craft kiosks in the middle of the street as well as a few "fair food" type booths with corny dogs etc...boutique shops and restaurants outlined the street. We ate at the same winery mom and I ate at before called "Farinas." They have the BEST flatbread pizza I have ever eaten and their khalua cake is to die for!

This is the perfect event for wine lovers and connoisseurs from across the nation. As we walked down the street admiring all of the fun wine accessories I found the neatest thing...As you can see, you just turn the wine bottle over into the pot which allows you to use the spout to pour wine into your glass! GREAT idea...The wine tasting event was under big white tents with 30 award-winning Texas wines for sampling. You pay $20 and they give you a wrist band allowing you entrance into the tent and 1.5 hours to taste. I have never spit out so much wine in my life! I found out that I do not like Texas wine. It has the weirdest, spiciest, tobaccoey taste that is not so great. There was even a wine that, when I smelled it, seriously smelled like poop! Seriously, I almost didn't taste it, but I just couldn't help but confirm its nastiness! It was so fun and I'm glad we did it. We even got to keep our souvenir wine glass.

We rounded out our fun 5 hour day with the petting zoo. Colt was super sleepy, but loved petting the goats, chickens, bunnies, llamas and donkey!

I will definitely be going to the annual Grapefest event every year!

Brylee is ONE!!!!!!!!

Mine and Blake's favorite BFF couple's little girl just turned ONE!!!!!! I cannot believe how fast time has flown by and I'm just so excited to watch this precious little girl grow. We joined all of their family and friends to celebrate her big day. They had the cutest little ladybug cake and she got lots of fun presents. She didn't really touch her "smash cake." She is so dainty and didn't want to get her fingers dirty. Once her daddy fed her some icing off his finger, she thought "hey, this is pretty good!" Happy birthday BRY!

Winston Wedding
Saturday evening my friends from highschool were married. This is hands down the best wedding I have ever attended. Seriously. From the dress, venue, 400+ guests, 3 GIANT screens for the slideshow/production, food, cake, GIANT lifesize and tree size framed pictures, TV in the cake room with the Texas game on, band, wine, and lots of dancing...it was amazing. I know they were so worried about the rain. It was an outdoor wedding and for the past week it has rained non stop!! The clouds cleared and the sun was shining for their big day, BUT did you know 70% humidity is not good for the hair?!?! I have naturally curly, frizzy hair so you can imagine what I looked like 30 minutes from stepping out of the car. I gave up, put my hair in a ponytail, danced the night away...sweated like a PIG. We all looked like we stepped out of the shower, but it was so fun! I love how dancing for a few hours makes you feel like you climbed a mountain the next day! Congrats John and Heather! LOVE YALL!!

*Is anybody as excited as I am about the Biggest Loser starting last week?!!! I sobbed like a baby when the contestant, Abby, got up for her weigh in saying that she was there for herself. Everybody else was losing weight for their family, husband, wife, kids etc... But Abby was losing weight for herself. She lost her husband, 5 yr old girl, and 2 week old baby boy in a car accident two years ago. My heart melted and I lost it. I have always thought if I lost a loved one I would probably kill myself...seriously, I cannot imagine losing one person, let alone THREE at one time! That is more than anybody should ever have to go through in a lifetime and she experienced it all in one day. I'm rooting for her for sure!

*Any Dancing with the Stars fans out there?!!!! The three day premier starts tomorrow! I cannot wait!

*Grey's Anatomy anyone?! Thursday is the big premier day! Set your DVR's!

baby name game...

The word on the street is that a fellow blogger just found out she's expecting baby #2 and wanted to know what everybody's favorite baby names were.

And NO...This girl right here is not preggers! (Just to clear things up)
Since Blake and I were together we had always said that we were going to name our little girl "Maddie" and our little boy "Blaine." So when I actual got pregnant, we started back peddling and thinking of other names. Blake was determined, if it was a boy, to name him Blake Jr. I, for one, am not a fan of naming my son the same name as my husband. I am married to a Blake and for me that name is special just for him. Therefore, I WAS NOT naming my boy Blake. PERIOD. To compromise, Blake wanted (if it were a boy) to have the same initials etc... Thinking that was totally fair...we tried to come up with EVERY B name in the book...and I just didn't LOVE them. So that didn't work out either. After we found out it was indeed a boy, I feel like it took us forever to come up with a name I LOVED. We were sitting around the ranch campfire one night and my dad said "What about Colt? that name has some hair on it don't ya think?" and so now we have a COLT :) We should name our next kid with a D initial...It would complete our A, B and C! Knowing now that I won't be restricted with initials next time around...here are my top picks.
Girl:
Daelee Blake
(my middle name is Dae)
Blakely Dae
(see Blake can have his way)
Boy:
Cash
(My all time favorite name forever and always! Please Blake can we name our NEXT boy Cash?!!)
I need some help! What are YOUR favorite names?!

Wishful Wednesday: I wish I could come home to ___house everyday!

Today's wish on BFF Kels' wishful wednesday is "I wish I could come home to _____house everyday. Soooooooo, for me, it would have to be...I wish I could come home to "a Christmas decorated" house everyday! In my house, Christmas decor goes up on Thanksgiving day. All Christmas presents are bought and wrapped before Thanksgiving day so the whole month of December is filled with Christmas cheer! It is by far my favorite time of year. Driving down a Christmas lit street on my way home always puts a jump in my step...the weather is great, people are so nice, stores smell like pumpkin spice and hot chocolate is on my drink menu everyday. Less than 3 months and the tree goes up, lights go on, presents go under and gifts go out! Can you believe it?! If I could come home to a lit house and a lit Christmas tree with the fireplace blazing in the living room...that be would be fine by me :)
