50 years later...

My grandparents, Mamaw and Papaw (technically Blake's maternal Gparents, but their mine too), are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today! Isn't that awesome?! 50 years of marriage...I hope mine lasts just as long and is as happy as theirs!

Their kids threw them a big party with about 80 of their friends and family complete with cake, jam session, champagne toast and a wonderful wonderful home cooked meal! I was lucky enough to contribute by making 20lbs of mashed potatos! and they were gooooooood....but I probably won't eat mashed potatos for a while :)

This party was extra special because Mamaw and Papaw never had a wedding. They got married in secret while they were still in HS and 16 years old! So tonight they finally got to cut their cake and feed it to eachother! So sweet!

Our FamOur family with Mamaw and Papaw M & P with their grandkids & 1 great
A few months ago Tammy sent out quilt squares to all their friends and family to decorate however they chose...whether it be a special memory or picture... and she had a quilt made out of all of them ... it was a complete surprise and it turned out great. What an awesome keepsake to have! What an accomplishment to be married and still in love after 50 years! Happy anniversary Mamaw and Papaw!!!!

That quilt is awesome! How in the world do the pictures get on there? Do you have any information on who actually made it or the process?
