First bowl of cereal!!!

Thursday I decided to give Colt his first bowl of cereal. I figured it would be a disaster and he wouldn't swallow very much. He proved me wrong...loved it and ate the whole bowl. It was a tad messy but so much fun. Blake fed him while I took pictures.

Lakehouse fun...May 09

Thankful

I'm so grateful for family. Family being my immediate family as well as Blake's family. I have been with Blake since I was 14 yrs old and have been blessed to be accepted by his family. They have always thought of me and treated me as if I were there own. I love them dearly and couldn't possibly ask for more. I'm so grateful that both sets of Colt's grandparents are hands on and always there at our beck and call.
Thank you Mom & Dad, Tammy & Joe for all the love, support, help, encouragement, pep talks and advice! Blake and I would be lost without you. You guys are our rocks!

Thursday...Colt had a slumber party with Gertie & Poppy. He went to a cousin's baseball game, got lots of kisses and slept until 9am. I'm so glad to know he is able to sleep like that everywhere and not just at home.

Friday...he went with Gertie to work for a few hours, went to the nail place with Gertie and to bunco. During this time, I was packing everyone for the lake and working out. Blake picked up Colt...brought him home and off to pick up Erin and Brylee...and to the lakehouse we went!

As we arrived to the house, we noticed the boat ramp was closed and the water was so high it was covering the road. Blake had high hopes of fishing and had to go to another marina to put the fishing boat in.
After that situation was resolved, we grilled out steaks, baked potatoes, beloved mac & cheese and salad. Yuuuuummmmy!!

Colt and Brylee took a bath together! Don't worry, once I am not blogging from my phone and get to a computer...you will get pics! It was precious. Our little angels are now sleeping as Erin and I watch CSI:Miami!

Yesterday, (Thursday May 7) Colt got his first bowl of cereal with a spoon!!! Dr. said to start food/Cereal at 4 months, but seeing as he is eating over 6 oz every 2-3 hours...I figured why not start cereal now?! He's 3.75 months so I'm pretty sure it's no biggie. He did great and ate every bit of it! He still has the tongue thrust relflex so I figured he wouldn't eat any of it. Boy, was I wrong! He loved it!! It might have been a little messy...but wonderful. I'm so excited! So at 5 months I'll start veggies and at 6 I'll start fruit! Pictures of his first feeding coming soon :) Hopefully tomorrow!

Xoxo,
Ab

Family Night!!

One of my favorite memories from my childhood is having family night once a week. It was every Thursday night and we always did something fun as a family without friends. For the past few years or so we still try to do family night once a week at my parents house. Mom always cooks a wonderful dinner for Haley, Nick, Blake, Me, Mom, Dad and now Colt. Tonight was themed "A night in Japan." Mom spend 2 weeks in Japan this past March and gave us a taste of what it was like (with better food of course). Mom decorated the table, Japan style, and had authentic Chopsticks from Japan for everybody that came in their own case.
The black longer ones are for men, and the red shorter ones are for women.Mom went to a few restaurants around the metroplex to get exactly what she wanted. She got California rolls, Teryaki chicken, sticky rice, dumplings and veggies from Hibachi San, Veggie Spring rolls from Panda Express, Soup and Salad from Benihanas and finished it off with a great Japanese dessert. (ice cream with Japanese "Pokey's" for the top)

It was so wonderful! Thanks mom for making our dinners so great and tonight was sooooooo fun!I love my family!!!!

Mommy's home!!!!

I arrived at DFW around 5:30 last night. Blake and Colt picked me up and we headed to my parent's house to pick up my car. Colt and I hung out at YaYa and Doodad's for a while I cleaned out one of mom's guest rooms. It was decorated in Tiffany Color's based on my wedding theme. She is turning that room into a nursery for her grandbaby/babies(come on Haley) so I figured I could turn my formal dining room into a wedding shrine! I'm in the process of doing it now, but I am using my 15ft wedding dress train as my formal dining room table cloth. I'm using all kinds of wedding paraphernalia such as my garter, wedding jewelry, program, invitation, pictures...you get the idea. Nothing is for sure in its exact place yet, but here is taste...I won't show you the other walls because they are a disaster!!
I was so happy to see my boys. Colt was asleep so I didn't wake him, but I'm pretty sure he didn't forget who I was :) Here he is last night after his bath...He got so chubby and big while I was away...
This weekend while he was at the lakehouse, his Gertie and Poppy bought him a new float for the lake and of course I had to try it out! Filled up the bathtub and in he went :) He LOVES it! He never gave me a smile, but he was trying to figure it all out. He kicked and splashed and sat there looking at me...once again probably saying "geez mom...would you just stop dressing me up and taking my picture all the time." So here is our water baby photoshoot take 2!

I hope everybody had a great weekend!

Bye Bye Seattle :(

Well, I'm at the airport blogging from my phone! Yay! I'm waiting to board my flight back to Dallas and after 4 wonderful days...I'm just about ready to see/hug my best friend/hubby's neck as well as my baby boy!! As I am sitting in the Terminal, I just watched a man in full army gear get off the plane and saw his 2 yr old son run up to him shouting,"daddy!!!". I totally teared up and thought, "wow" I can't even imagine!! But I'm glad I could see that sweet tender moment. Also as I'm sitting here, I'm listening to a troll of a kid yelling, "no!!!" and other disrespectful things to his mother. I'm so hoping they don't sit next to me! Ha! Great...now he's throwing a tantrum...awesome.I cannot stand an undisciplined kid. Alright...time to go!! Bye bye Seattle!

Bobbles and Milk

Kels and I as we head out to eat at her favorite restaurant Azul. It reminds me of "Gloria's" in Dallas as an upscale mexican food place. As I said before, WW points are out the window so I ordered chicken quesadillas for the first time in 3 months!!! Worth every calorie for sure!
The perfect ending to a perfect day...Tollhouse cookies and milk cuddled up on the couch watching Grey's and Desperate. Who would have thought after 23 years we'd still be having slumber parties?!! Mom and Mrs. Gari, did yall ever imagine 23 years later we'd still be inseperable?
Well, I leave tomorrow afternoon to head back to reality. Kels and I are working out first thing before heading to the airport and off to Texas I go. I can't wait to see my boys, but I have had such a wonderful weekend with the best of all best friends. Thanks Kels for showing me such a great time and I have loved seeing where you live and meeting all of your great friends. Mollie and Katie, thank you both so much for loving sweet Kelsey and helping welcome me to your city. The winery was so much fun and I am so happy I finally got to put faces with the names and stories I have been hearing so much about. I hope to be back and stay a little longer next time!

Tata for now!!
