The picture says it all!!!
We had a little scare as we were taking a few family photos...
As we were trying to make Colt laugh, he got a little too excited and started clapping and jumping. Before we knew it, he had catupulted himself head first down the stone/rock stairs! In a terror, I screamed bloody murder and ran to try and catch him. Obviously that didn't happen, but you wouldn't think I would turn and run the other way. BUT...I did. As soon as I knew I couldn't get to him and saw him "hit" I closed my eyes and ran the other way. I just KNEW there was going to be blood everywhere and I couldn't watch. By some miracle he didn't hit his head even though I swear I saw his head hit, everybody else said he didn't...he's totally fine...So much for "boy mom test" number ONE! I failed! Blake got there first and I knew he would handle it. Thank the good Lord there was NO blood, NO scratch...nothing! Just a few tears on Colt's part, but was a champ and took lots of cute smiley pictures afterwards (did I mention this picture was the second picture?!) As for me, I was a mess. I need to do better. I know this will not be the last thing like this that happens and I knew this was going to happen and I thought I had mentally prepared myself. BUT I didn't think 8 months would be the first set of stitches!!! and thank goodness its NOT! at least this week :)
Is that crazy that Tammy caught this in action?! After the fact, we were all saying, "why didn't anybody catch him?" We came inside to look at the pictures and low and behold...All four of them were trying to catch him!
Tonight, as I put Colt to bed and prayed over him as usual...I always ask God to surround him with a shield of angels to protect him and watch over him. So tonight it was a prayer of thanks for the answered prayer! I'm still in shock that he's totally fine, but should I be?
