Well, after 9 super fun parties...we are pooped! It's been great to just chill these past few days while Blake went to the ranch. C and I have been at my parent's house planning away for his bday party, eating leftovers, lots of pie and hanging out in our jammies. Here is the short Christmas recap...
Blake and I did our presents different this year. He loves to surprise me. Meaning, if I say "hey, I want this," I know for a fact I'm NOT getting it. It has to be his idea and a complete surprise. I needed a black bag really bad because ALL of mine are brown! So when I came across the most beautiful black Gucci bag ON SALE at Saks Off Fifth... I had to have it. I told Blake about my awesome find pleading for him to actually get me something I asked for and after much consideration and begging on my part...he AGREED, but I couldn't have it until Christmas :) Of course, he couldn't resist and had to surprise me with something on Christmas morning, so he gave me a gift card to my fav store... you guessed it...Saks Off Fifth! WHEE! Since I got something I asked for...he got to have the Kimber 45?? that he asked for. Merry Christmas honey!
If you know me at all, you know one of my biggest pet peeves is baby stuff! I just hate toys everywhere, cluttering and taking over the house making it look like a baby lives there. I'm kind of like Bree from Desperate Housewives minus the gourmet cook part! You can imagine my dismay as we filled the living room Christmas night with all of C's loot from the day...lots and lots of toys. (That he LOVED BTW!) I should have taken a picture of this rare moment before it was quickly cleaned up and all the toys found a home in Colt's closet! Don't worry, they will come out everyday so Colt can play! I am fun too, ya know! :)
My favorite thing this year was watching this little cutie's face open tons of presents! I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that his face looked like utter shock and childlike wonderment EVERY time he opened a present. It was almost as if he knew what was going on. I'm sure he got so excited because we were excited, nonetheless, it was priceless! I can't wait for his birthday in a few weeks just to see this face again! HA!

This was super cool...Aunt Haley and Uncle Nick bought him a stuffed mounted deer! How cute is that?!

I hung it here...Colt wakes up in the mornings now saying "Dee." So we have a new word!

"baby" grand piano from Yaya and Doodad

I have to mention that my in-laws give the most thoughtful and awesome gifts ever!!! I never ever can guess what I will be opening at their house on Christmas Day. It is always a surprise.
My fabulous MIL remembered how much I loved/wanted/had to have this fabric for my dining room curtains and, of course, she went above and beyond...not only did she buy ALL the fabric...she MADE the curtains for me! She even bought rods so they are ready to be hung!
Can't wait to see how they look!

She even remembered that I needed a fire place screen. The picture doesn't do it justice. There is an oak tree and a deer on it. It is awesome! I just love it!

...and my parents might have gotten me these Louboutins, but I'm not sure :)

We ended the night like this...little C with his new horse towel from Yaya and Doodad.

So...we have to wait another year for Christmas. I'm sure it will come just as fast as this one did! A new year is upon us...and 2010 has lots of major events for our family...
